How to Help
We are truly grateful for any help you can give to our charity. Here are a few suggestions on helping us:
YOU COULD MAKE A REGULAR DONATION
The easiest way to do this is to set up a Direct Debit from your bank account.
TAKE PART IN A SPONSORED EVENT FOR FUTURE BRIGHT TRUST
If you are doing something exciting and can choose which charity to benefit, please choose Future Bright Trust. Such help has included a sponsored cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats; coffee mornings; Lent Lunch, church collections; in memoriam collections. Contact us so that we can give you publicity materials
USE OUR ONLINE SHOP!!!
The attractive and useful skinny notebooks from our ONLINE SHOP. These are designed using the traditional South African Sweshwe fabric and the children’s own pictures
IF YOU BELONG TO A GROUP WHY NOT BOOK A TALK BY SUE
She is an experienced public speaker and has an illustrated presentation; “TEACHING MADIBA’S CHILDREN” about her experiences in South Africa and the work of Future Bright Trust. All proceeds to the charity
Beyond Dreaming – Teaching Madiba’s Children
Inspired by the great Nelson Mandela, Sue went as a volunteer teacher to South Africa.
In this talk you can share her time working in two very different schools, her life as a lodger in a convent and the legacy of this profound and life changing experience – the work she now does to help educate orphans in South Africa.
HOW DO WE FUNDRAISE?
♥ The Trustees organising our annual fundraising summer garden party which takes place in Dorset. You can see from our past newsletters how successful these are >
♥ By communicating with our friends and supporters. All our supporters receive 2 newsletters a year to keep them up to date with news of the children and of any forthcoming events
♥ Regular donations – thanks to the commitment and generosity of a growing group of friends who are enjoying watching the children thrive and develop. You can set up a regular donation here >
♥ Third party events – organised by kind friends have included a sponsored cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats; coffee mornings; Lent Lunch, church collections; in memoriam collections
♥ Presentations by Sue Hennessy (see above) to community groups – the speakers fee and any donations are for Future Bright Trust
♥ Sale of the children’s work – so far this has been Christmas cards and currently skinny notebooks >
♥ Give as You Live – an incredibly easy way to raise funds when shopping on line >
♥ A key element of our success in raising funds is that our expenditure is very low. Trustees give their time for nothing; most of the expenditure to stage the garden party events is covered by sponsorship; our bank (Barclays) helps keep banking costs to a minimum. Our supporters are keenly aware of this and offer it as one of the reasons why they are happy to support Future Bright Trust.
♥ We strive to keep any costs to an absolute minimum. We are a small and very tightly run charity. Trustees give their time for nothing
Thank you for your support!
